Baby Steps Forward!

Hey there! Its 10:20 AM on Sunday and we are anxious to see what today holds. Last night around midnight he was somewhat stable but hadn't peed. We woke up in the middle of the night a few times and checked in. His nurse said after changing some medications he actually peed ALOT! That's a great thing! They also weaned some of his heart medication because his blood pressure was getting better. Baby steps is the word today! We also talked to his cardiologists last night after they had done an echocardiogram on his heart. They wanted to check out how his heart is functioning after surgery and determine if the swelling, poor circulation and blood pressure are due to a problem in the heart still. They said that the "band" the surgeon put around the pulmonary artery might have loosened and might need to be tightened. They also said the "coarchtation" in the aortic arch (the one that they tried to fix) might still not be wide enough for adequate blood flow. This news is not the most welcomed as you can imagine...considering they might have to go back and fix these problems again. They don't know if what they saw on the echo is due to these new problems or due to the fact that he has a lot of water in his body making the pressures high. They want to wait a few days and see if Lincoln sheds some water and can come off of some of his heart medication. If he does that and he improves, they might not need to adjust the band and fix the coarchtation. So the next 24/48 hours are huge! Please be in prayer for this specificity! God is soooo good to us and we are waiting with great anticipation this Fathers Day for good news...and baby steps forward! We love you all! J&K

Hi Josh and Kristen,

Happy Father's Day to you this Lord's Day as you wait upon Him for His care of Lincoln. I am rejoicing with all of you that Lincoln is continuing his little baby steps each moment and that he is "peeing"! :-) I pray that his litle body stabilize and that the doctors will not need to go back in and do more repair.

I continue to pray for your strength and peace as do many others. My friend, Darlene Harper,is praying much for you as she did for Elijah and she also sent you a special letter at that tme. She wrote the following awhile back and thought it might be an encouragement to you and your family:

"A life of prayer provides me INNER STRENGTH and OUTER CALM as Jesus stands in 'my boat' and speaks PEACE to the storm that engulfs me...thereby holding me 'in the eye of the storm'."

Darlene has been through the fire and continues to do so but her faith is rich in our God is so faithful. My faith has been enriched as I have watched her go through the storms of life and it has helped me to endure the storms in my life as I have learned to trust in Jesus.

Thanks for keeping us updated so well as it really helps in knowing how to pray. God's blessings upon you and family.

Love ya much,

Aunt Donna :-) Isa. 40

Josh & Kristen,
Happy Father's Day! We are thanking God for baby steps. Also praying for continued peace as God directs this little boy's life. We are specifically praying that Lincoln will shed his water and be able to back off on some of his heart medication. Also that they won't need to go back in and fix. Thanks for the updates, we look constantly so we can know how to best be praying. Blessings! Jocie

Thinking about you this father's day and praying during mass!! I know that my little one , and yours, as well as all of us, have a greater FATHER IN HEAVEN looking out after us, and who loves us even more than our own fathers'. Josh, if you can imagine anyone loving Elijah and Lincoln today, any more than you do, you know that this is an awesome amount of love!!!

Happy Father's Day to GOD and Josh and husgs to Kristen!

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
(Isa 40:31 KJV)

Thank God the surgery is over and he's on his way to recovery. Like I said: "He looks like a little angel and God is healing this precious little baby boy." We'll keep praying for all of you!
Betty & Al Killen
