We Just Need To Eat!

Hello to all...Lincoln is doing wonderful. The cardiologists gave him the green light to go home in regards to his heart. We are now just waiting for the NICU Dr's to give us the ok. There is basically one thing keeping him in the hospital...eating. They have removed all of Lincolns tubes, wired and IV's and he is not hooked up to anything other that his heart monitor. He is almost a free bird. He is also getting all his medications orally. Lincoln is now at 52 cc's of Pregestimil. Unfortunately he is still eating about 1/2 to 3/4 of that amount before he gets pooped out. Every once in a while (maybe 3 out of 8 times a day) he will drink his whole bottle on his own. The Dr's what him to be able to drink his whole bottle every feeding. The reason for this is that Lincoln spends so much energy trying to eat that he can sometime burn to many calories and be nutritionally unstable. Thay want him to learn to drink it all while in the hospital so they can monitor his nutrition and build up his reserve and stamina so it is more safe to go home. Please pray that he gets stronger and drinks his whole bottle every time. The though of going home brings a lot of emotion to the surface...past and present. Pray for us as we adjust to the possibilities of going home soon and how that will affect us. Ben, Rachel, Laurel Dhillon came to visit this week and it was great to see them again. We will give you an update as soon as there are any changes. We love you all! J&K

Hi Guys,

What exciting news that the heart drs. gave him the A-OK to go home...wow. I will be praying that Lincoln gets stronger and that he will drink ALL his bottle.
He's come SO far--he'll DO it! Do not lose heart! God's timing is PERFECT! God has him (and you both) there for a reason.

I will also pray for your emotions. God knows ALL about it and will give you grace WHEN you NEED it. Don't "borrow trouble".

Love you guys...and are so excited to see your faces at HOME!

Nola said, "Is Linkon home yet?" I said, "No... not yet." She then said, "PAY (pray) for him mommy!" and so we did. Lincoln, Nola wants you to hurry and come home so she can meet you in person.

Hi Josh and Kristen

What fantastic news to receive just before going to bed! God is so good and so very faithful to each of us. I will be praying that Lincoln continues to get stronger and begins to finish his formula so you can all go home and begin somewhat of a normal life as a family. It's amazing all that has transpired in this past month for each of you and so special to see how God has taken you through step by step in His Miracle.

Will write more tomorrow. It's been a busy 3 days with my granddaughter getting married yesterday. Pretty exciting and emotional as they she and her husband begin their lives together and think about starting a family.

God's blessings to each of you.

Love and hugs to all,

aunt donna :-) Phil. 4:13,19

We are so thrilled that Lincoln has come so far, with the help of both your wonderful medical staff and our Lord Jesus. What a blessing, but I know it must be a little nerve racking too! My husband and I were just talking about that today...how it would be scary to take a fragile little guy home...but you guys are so wonderfully faithful and strong. We know that God is walking with you each step of the way. We'll pray that he keeps on eatin'!

Blessings and peace to you all! Looking forward to reading your next update...

Josh & Kristen,

Oh Boy!!! So exciting! Can't wait for you to get home! We told Ethan that Lincoln gets to come home soon while we were driving home from church tonight. His eyes lit up, and he showed a silent "oh" (rounded mouth) with a slight grin on each side of his mouth. Then he started kicking in his car seat. That little boy prays for Lincoln 4 times a day...each meal and at bedtime (sometimes nap time too). He loves that baby Lincoln.

During "night time prayers" tonight on his own Ethans prayer was..."Thank you baby Lincoln go home, Doctor's help getting better." Then later he would yell across the house to Mike..."Daddy, baby Lincoln coming home, baby Lincoln coming home!" (I wonder if he thinks Lincoln's coming to "our" home...don't worry we explained that he'll be with you guys!)

Obviously we are excited for you and will continue praying!

We love you guys,
Danielle for Mike, Ethan, & Ellie

P.S.
I forgot to tell you that Ethan said, "I want to give baby Lincoln hug and kiss."

Josh & Kristen,

We've been in Kansas City since Thursday and it was fantastic to return to hear the great news that Lincoln is thisclose to coming home. We will pray that he starts eating the full amount of food he needs so he can be strong enough for the doctors to allow him to make the trip. He is making such incredible strides. It's wonderful to read through all the comments you are getting and to think about how many people are praying for you. It is encouraging to my heart to see what happens when believers come togehter in agreement and lift each other up in prayer. I can only imagine how encouaging it is to you to read all the kind words and well wishes you are being sent. We can't wait to see you guys!

Love,

Melissa
