So Close to Going Home!
Hey everyone! Well, Lincoln got over his CMV and was discharged on Monday back to the Tiverton House. Unfortunately we are back in the hospital! Tuesday, after Lincoln got discharged we took him to clinic for a check up. There the Dr's told us that we no longer need to be here and that we can finally return to Fresno! We were making plans to come home this weekend when we experienced yet another set back. On Thursday morning Lincoln woke up with a 103 temp and a heart rate over 200. We immediately took him to the ER. We knew he had another bug but didn't know what. They quickly put him on antibiotics and later that day he seemed to feel better. They decided to readmit him to determine what he has. The last 2 days have been filled with tests, x-rays, cultures and medication. We still don't know what he has since most of the cultures are still pending. They are leaning toward pneumonia or an infection in the lungs due to an aspiration. Regardless, Lincoln is on multiple antibiotics and he is doing and feeling much better. If we get answers from the cultures in the next 24 hours, they should be able to specifically treat him and hopefully get back out of the hospital on Monday or Tuesday...and then on to Fresno ASAP. Keep him in your prayers! We are so excited to come home but Lincoln seems to like this place! We love you all! J&K

Back in the Hospital!
Lincoln is 10 months today! If you recall...I mentioned getting to the computer to give an update is somewhat difficult these days since we are out of the hospital. Between family, company, the holiday and taking care of Lincoln...and not having an accessible computer to upload pics...it has been difficult to keep up. So sorry to keep you all in the dark for so long. Hopefully everyone had a great Easter...we did! It was so nice being out of the hospital. We have had so much fun with Lincoln, taking him out, shopping, going for walks...It has been a blast. However, we are back in the hospital because Lincoln came down with a nasty virus. He started getting sick last week with a cough, runny nose, diarrhea, vomiting...you get the picture! The doctors said he has a cold and to just watch him close. Monday it seemed like his symptoms were getting worse, and to make matters more complicated, Kristen and I were getting sick also. We decided to take him to the urgent care for a check-up. A quick echo and some lab work revealed that Lincoln's heart was doing good and had not yet been affected by the symptoms. However, when they checked the lab work, they discovered that Lincoln has acquired a virus called CMV (Cytomegalovirus). I'm not going to explain what it is...you can look it up for yourself, but if untreated it could send Lincoln into rejection. We left urgent care and went straight to the hospital to be admitted. Lincoln is undergoing anti-viral treatment and close observation. Fortunately, his heart seems to be doing fine and we should be discharged by Monday...hopefully! They are also checking cultures on every other type of body fluid for other infections that might be present as well. We are also playing with Lincoln's feeding regiment and experimenting with different baby formulas and eating schedules to try to get him to eat better and see if we can get his diarrhea under control. Please keep him in your prayers over the next couple of days...it's scary being back in the hospital! They will check his CMV level tomorrow and if the virus level is back to normal he should be released as long as there are no other infections or problems with his GI track or problems with his heart. Please pray that his heart will be protected from any attack or rejection. Pray that he eats better and will keep his feeds down. And lastly...pray that we can come home soon! We will talk to all of you very soon...thanks for all your prayers and support! We love you all! J&K
